Elephant toothpaste experiment

On Monday 2.11.2020 room ten did an experiment on elephant toothpaste and here’s how it goes.

First we had to get

  •  A clean 16-oz plastic soda bottle.

  • 1/2 cup 20-volume hydrogen peroxide liquid (20-volume is a 6% solution; you can get this from a beauty supply store or hair

  • salon)

  • 1 Tablespoon (one packet) of dry yeast.

  • 3 Tablespoons of warm water.

  • Liquid dishwashing soap.

  • Food coloring.

  • Small cup.

  • Funnel.

After we got the materials/ingredients we used 10%

of hydrogen peroxide so we could pour it into the

plastic bottle, we also had to pour a few drops of

liquid dishwashing soap and food coloring as well, then mix it around for a few seconds.

When you have done mixing around the ingredients,

pour 1 tablespoons of yeast into a small cup and then pour 3 tablespoons of hot water in as well.If the smell disturbs you grab a mask and then chuck it on.

After you have done pouring in the rest combine the ingredients by pouring the mixture of hot water and yeast into the funnel carefully so it all can go into the cup.

I hope all of you have fun doing this experiment.
